8. An Engrossing Storyline With Meaningful Choices
As far as we know, we’re getting a new story completely separate from the established canon we know from the Wizarding World. This takes place before the events of Fantastic Beasts, and way before the events of the Harry Potter books. As to whether there’ll be any lore that ends up tying into Fantastic Beasts or Potter specifically, we’ll have to wait and see.
From what we heard, you can take your character down either a good or evil route. Bring peace to the wizarding world and defeat whatever threat in the tidiest way possible, or dive in all wands-blazing and conjure the dark mark or something. This was way before Voldy or even Grindelwald’s time, so do your own dark thing.
Hopefully we won’t just be given a blunt go left or right at the beginning of the game, instead incorporate a means of our actions influencing standings within the wizarding world, much like a karma system.
Allow us to flit between good and evil based on how the story progresses. Maybe you’re happy being a huge turd, but something comes up meaning you need to stamp on your cat, and you’ve become mightily attached to Mittens. Suddenly you’ll want to be good again. Also, adding varying endings based on how good or evil we’ve been throughout will absolutely make me go and play it again.
