Hitman 2 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
4. It Isn't Episodic...And That's A Good Thing

2016's Hitman proved controversial right out of the gate with its episodic delivery model, whereby the six missions were gradually doled out to players over the course of almost eight months.
It was a novel idea and certainly resulted in players digging deeper into the individual levels than they otherwise would have, but time-gating the material like this was also an irritation for those who love to lose themselves in a game, finish it and then move onto something else.
Thankfully Hitman 2 is back to a more typical, instant gratification model, with all six missions unlocked from the get-go, while naturally still giving players every reason and opportunity to replay them countless times over.
Options are a good thing, and by not making players wait until next summer to experience the whole game, they can decide to tackle it however they want.
