Horizon: Zero Dawn's later events revealed the 'metal devils' of the game's myth were actually huge military robots, codenamed FAS-BOR7 Horus, that created and coordinated self-replicated attack robots as well as serving as immense siege engines.

While they are seen embedded in the landscape of the game world and referenced by the histories Aloy uncovers, she never actually faces a 'living' Horus, in spite of how they are built up as the most dangerous form of killer machine.

The Frozen Wilds seems the perfect time for Aloy to face at least one metal devil in its full pomp, perhaps one re-activated by the Hades AI seen fleeing after the original game's climax. The huge stormy mountain seen in the trailer also looks like a viable lair for a gargantuan robo-squid.

After being talked up so much in the original game, a Horus really needs to take centre stage, especially if Aloy gets to face one in anger.
