3. The Protagonist

The protagonists of the Grand Theft Auto series to date are Claude, Tommy Vercetti, CJ, Niko Bellic, Franklin Clinton, Michael De Santa and Trevor Phillips - although it's not like any of these are protagonists in the traditional 'hero' mould.

For Grand Theft Auto VI, the person who gamers' will be taking control of is currently codenamed as Ricardo. That name is not the actual name of the character, and the reveal of hearing this person's real name will reportedly give the proverbial game away as to what the central narrative of GTA VI is.

While we don't know Ricardo's real identity, he is said to be a white Italian-American male, 6'1" in height, with jet black hair and a sun-drenched tan. Also, by the time the game comes to an end, 'Ricardo' will be 34 years of age.

Given how GTA VI will start in the 1970s and move through several decades, that would make it near-enough impossible to play through the whole game as 'Ricardo', for you'd have to take play as the character during his time as a child - which is why it's rumoured that the beginning of the game will see you play as Ricardo's father during the 1970s setting.
