12. Green Lantern

A character entirely tied to his powers, you'll need to master chaining together Hal's meter-burned special attacks to really do damage. However, as his base strength is relatively high and Green Lantern can connect even basic slams from a medium distance, there's always something to watch out for - or use to your advantage.

His supermove is even more OTT than in the original, and with some of the most slick armour designs in the game, there's a real impetus to grind out some time with Lantern to unlock all of it.

What he lacks in ease-of-use, Green Lantern makes up for with a nicely-paced learning curve. It'll take you only a few rounds to start tagging ring-slamming specials on the end of your combos, though therein lies the heart of a balanced character.
