4. Mera
A third and final character that could replace one on the current roster would be Mera.
As most will already know, Mera is the wife of Aquaman, though is by no means his lesser. She shares the same Atlantean powers (so talking to fish is still an option), is similarly skilled in terms of hand-to-hand (and trident-to-trident) combat and also has the added ability of water manipulation – making her more formidable than Arthur.
Surprisingly, despite the series’ many trips to Atlantis, Mera has scarcely featured in the Injustice-verse – something that must be rectified in the next title. Her water manipulation and history with Arthur and Atlantis arguably make her more interesting than Aquaman (from both a fighting and story standpoint) so it would only be logical for NetherRealm to make her their premiere Atlantean champion next time round.
