We did, of course, get to experience two of the new worlds for ourselves. The first thing we noticed was the sheer scale of each world now. Mount Olympus has been massively expanded upon, heavily highlighting the new athletic flow mechanic, evolved from the free flow in Dream Drop Distance, which now lets Sora scale up mountainsides.

Avoiding falling rocks launched at us from the giant Rock Titan boss, we made our way up the mountain and proceeded to battle the giant creature. For the first time in Kingdom Hearts, we will also see Pixar worlds, and we have already had Toy Story and Monsters In confirmed in trailers. We were able to play a sizeable chunk of the Toy Box world which really helped set the story up.

From Andy’s room, to the street, to the toy store, exploring through the vents, it was absolutely enormous. Thankfully we have a nicely detailed minimap to keep us from getting lost.
