The first wave of reviews for Kingdom Hearts III have just dropped, and what better way to make the wait until its worldwide Tuesday release that much more agonising?
Thankfully the early critical consensus is that the long-awaited RPG largely lives up to the hype, delivering a rich, crowd-pleasing experience with some of the slickest gameplay in the franchise to date.
Most reviews have presented a few caveats with regard to its narrative and some of Square Enix's typically counter-intuitive design choices, but if you're a huge fan of the previous games, KH3 appears to be a worthy conclusion to the trilogy.
Between this and the Resident Evil 2 remake, it's fair to say that 2019 seems to be off to one hell of a strong start, serving up two titles with Game of the Year-calibre Metacritic scores.
