12. Onward
Recently Pixar has been very hit or miss. Soul was really good, Coco was a return to form, and Toy Story 4 was a great conclusion to Woody's arc, but as mentioned earlier, Luca was divisive, Incredibles 2 was simply fine, and then there was Onward.
Onward came out and the world collectively said "this is fine, I guess" and then we moved on with our lives. But the one interesting thing about Onward other than its amazing third act and the world of the film.
The idea of a traditional fantasy setting discovering technology and becoming similar to modern-day society is pretty genius, and because of this, the land of Onward could be a great Kingdom Hearts world.
Whilst a sequel story set in the universe would definitely work, it could also retell the plot of the original movie just with Sora, Donald, and Goofy joining the elven brothers on their quest to spend one last day with their father.
Yeah, seeing Donald and Goofy in the background of Barley's reunion with his dad would be jarring but it wouldn't be Kingdom Hearts if there weren't awkward moments.
