LAST GUARDIAN Creator Fumito Ueda Leaves Sony

Though he intends to finish the project as a freelancer.

One of the most anticipated games for the past few years has been the Last Guardian, the game that is being made by the same people who brought you Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. However, there might be some doubt about the project now that the creator has left Sony. According to the rumor he has left Sony but intends on finishing the project as a freelancer, and once the Last Guardian is complete he will work on his own personal projects. Ueda leaving Team Ico is supposedly one of the major reasons the game has been delayed so many times, the game was scheduled to be released this year but has been pushed back to some time in 2012. In fact I don't believe much of anything has been shown of the game in the past year, but Sony has stated that "Team Ico was still "hard at work" on the Last Guardian. In the meantime while you wait for the Last Guardian to be finished, you can pick up a copy of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection.

I have been playing video games all my life but not only that I enjoy discussing them just as much as I love playing them. Therefore after going through college to get a criminal justice degree I became a freelance video game writer.
