The fighting in the Lego games have always been basic, two 3-move combos, jumping attacks and blasters. For the new game, alongside the new NTT engine, combat is getting a full overhaul.

Short range weapons are now receiving a new combo system, allowing player to combine light and heavy attacks, as well as Jedi characters utilizing Force Powers like pushing, choking, lightning, etc.

For characters with blasters, the view has been shifted from a basic fixed camera view from the previous titles to an over-the-shoulder viewpoint, similar to that of third-person shooters. This will get players more involved in the action, especially for the aforementioned large scale battles we can expect.
