Create-a-play mode was a feature in the game from many years ago, though some fans complained it could be easily exploited. Unfortunately, the NFL have a commanding power over the Madden series' after imparting licenses to the game, and believe that customisation of plays devalues their brand. It's a terrible excuse that fans of the game do not want to hear, but if an agreement can be reached with the bosses, fans would love to fully customise their plays and feel in total control of their own team as the coach of a team in franchise mode.
