Madden 20: 7 Biggest Changes You Need To Know
2. Superstar Players Matter More
If nothing else, a global game tempo will feed nicely into EA's increased stress on the importance of superstar players on each side of the field. Now more than ever before, individual stats for the NFL's brightest talents mean everything. Mastering them will be the difference between success and failure on the gridiron.
EA are calling this the 'X-Factor' for select players. Snazzy title, but it's there for more than marketing purposes.
New Cleveland receiver Odell Beckham Jr is slated be one of the superstars, and so are titans like Aaron Donald, Juju Smith-Schuster, cover boy Patrick Mahomes and last year's poster child Antonio Brown. Six-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady will obviously be in that class as well. The 41-year old still has it, folks.
Madden 20 will have 50 superstars in total. They're worth knowing, because they're the ones you want to get the ball to, or (in the case of sack masters like the Rams' Donald) use to shut down opposing running plays. It'll be cool to see just how much significance this mechanic has game-to-game.
