Madden 20: 7 Biggest Changes You Need To Know

1. Face Of The Franchise: QB1

Last year's 'Longshot' story mode has been replaced by an all-encompassing, heavily-customisable, less-linear 'Face Of The Franchise: QB1' campaign. This is one of the most exciting features in 20, not least 'cause it promises players the chance to pick from 10 different college clubs and work their way up through the ranks to NFL immortality.

The graphic above lays things out simply enough; EA are letting you play football God by creating a QB (that's the only position open, hence the 'QB1' sub-titling), going through college, proving yourself in the NFL and then becoming a Super Bowl champion. There are different scenarios that'll test your player's mettle in between all of that goodness.

This is a neat departure from Longshot's on-the-rails gameplay and TV 'B' movie storytelling.

If it can even come close to 2K's NBA franchise, then EA can pat themselves on the back. Aside from the tedious flaunting of microtransactions in 2K19, MyCareer was a blast to play through there. Eliminate those, but keep the pacing and tailored elements, and this will be a winner.
