14. Combine Gyro Controls AND Manual Steering For Sharp Corners

Onto the steering itself, as it can be incredibly hard to make tight corners when driving at high speed.

The 150cc races are where most veteran players will be starting out, but depending on the course, it can result in a one-on-one meeting with the nearest wall.

To remedy this, hop into the options and turn on Gyro Handling alongside Manual Drift.

With just one of these turned on, your character will fail to make the full turning circle of a given swipe, but combine the two i.e. steer using your thumb AND turn your phone simultaneously, and you'll see a notable change in how much control you have over your kart.

This is - as far as I've played - the only way to make any series of chicanes without losing momentum.
