The fact Valkyrie has her comic book design suggests that Thor: Ragnarok was nowhere near the design team for Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Games can take a long time to create, so that’s no surprise, and it likely explains the absence of Korg too.
Taika Waititi’s loveable rock man wouldn’t normally be in the frame for something like this. However, Ragnarok and Endgame have increased his popularity ten fold, and now fans would love to get their hands on him.
Its a perfect example of great characterisation taking a minor player and building them into something great. With almost zero name brand recognition, Korg has become an instant fan favourite.
