Marvel's Avengers: 10 DLC Characters Who MUST Appear

Yes, yes, the introduction did say the list was light on mutants, but Deadpool is a bit of a law unto himself. His meta humour and sword play would offer a big shakeup to the Avengers as we’ve seen them so far, and he’s sure to be incredibly popular with fans.

The problem with Deadpool is that he’s difficult to get right. The Lego games (understandably) neutered him, while his own game leaned too much into the silly, infantile moments which were frequent in his comics during the nineties.

Deadpool is enjoying a resurgence now, both in the comics and on the silver screen, but there was a time when he was incredibly cringy.

Comedy is one of the hardest things to get right, and considering the tone of the trailer so far, the game isn’t going to be as quippy as the MCU or Spider-Man game. If Deadpool gets things wrong, it’ll definitely stand out.

This shouldn’t be a reason to tip toe around the Merc With A Mouth though. If they commit to the character’s personality, use the meta stuff sparingly and get the action sequences right, he’ll be a welcome addition to the game.
