Another character seemingly poised to join Marvel's Avengers as a playable hero, James "Rhodey" Rhodes (aka War Machine) gets a minor shout out in one of the game's collectibles - a message sent to him by Tony Stark in the wake of A-Day.

Tony thanks his friend for sticking up for him at the hearings, hints at the War Machine armour and name-drops who I can only assume is Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, a Marvel military general who you may recognise from such comics as The Incredible Hulk, and Thunderbolts.

Ross' potential inclusion isn't something that many fans had considered, but with "echo" characters rumoured to be on the way, a red re-skin and re-dub for Ross as Red Hulk could end up being a fun and easy piece of content for Crystal Dynamics to add at some point in the future.
