Players can spot Phil Sheldon early on in Marvel's Avengers, during an interview with Nick Fury. Sheldon made his debut in the iconic Marvels series written by Kurt Busiek with art from Alex Ross, which followed his exploits as a reporter chronicling the exploits of Marvel's Silver Age heroes.
Just like in the comics Sheldon is a reporter for the Daily Bugle in Crystal Dynamics' game - only this time he seems to have absorbed J. Jonah Jameson's reactionary proclivities.
Phil is injured during the events of A-Day and essentially acts as a mouthpiece for AIM while reporting for the Bugle, even after being rescued by Thor towards the end of the second act.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
