Marvel's Spider-Man: 16 Completely Pointless Details (That Will Blow Your Mind)
11. Every Web Literally Connects To A Building
As Insomniac have made very clear during and after development, the most important aspect of the game to nail down was the swinging.
Like 2004's Spider-Man 2 movie tie-in (also known as the former-best Spider-Man game ever), Spidey's new swinging system is entirely dependant on physics. It means treating Spider-Man like a pendulum, dynamically modelling his velocity and speed depending on the angle of every individual swing.
Sounding like a nightmare to get right, if you hop into Photo Mode, you can zoom all the way in to where your webs are going - only to find them physically attached to buildings, cranes, water towers etc.
Exemplifying all the work that was put into getting Spidey to swing "properly", it makes for another cool detail that millions won't ever see.
