Mass Effect 4: 10 Essential Things It Must Get Right

8. Meaningful Vehicle Sections

For ME4 they're apparently bringing back the Mako - the unbelievably-springy suspension-bottomed vehicle we all took for a spin in the first game. Many fans didn't actually like these sections, as apart from the locomotion of the vehicle itself surely ping-pong'ing all those inside around like Daffy Duck dodging bullets, they were pretty pointless. You'd drop onto any number of very similar-looking worlds, and aside from some perfunctory combat where you perforated a few enemy forces with laser fire, the only reason the Mako seemed to exist was to get you from A to B in the most overly bouncy way possible. This time round we either need to see more detailed planets that make for more enjoyable terrain to traverse, missions centred around a hybrid of driving and on-foot combat, or just something that makes piloting the Mako essential and not just a pointless slog.
