6. Don’t Go Human-Centric
Despite Mass Effect stretching far and wide across the galaxy, the game has always been very Human-centric. It’s not just about you playing as a Human (though there’s more on that coming up), but the whole focus of the game in general.
Human squadmates outnumber the other species so much that there’s almost more Humans than every other species combined. There’s also The Illusive Man, Anderson, the creepy kid whose ghost guides you to the final choice... and being part of the Human ark in Andromeda only made things worse.
There’s so many rich stories in the universe, and through say, Tali’s side missions, we get to see what life is like for the Quarians. Even though the original trilogy is really well put together, these tales of other species felt like we were just dipping our toes in the water. Far too much revolved around Earth and humanity.
Initially, there’s more relatability with Humans than aliens, so you can understand the decision.
