Mass Effect Andromeda: 15 Crucial Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You

1. How To Have The Best Story Experience

Another baffling omission, it's incredibly easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of mission possibilities that present themselves in the first few hours, meaning you'll only rarely come across the good stuff.

Spend too much time on a specific planet or neglect when a crew member has a loyalty mission on the cusp of being unlocked, and it's very easy to think Bioware have completely stripped down Andromeda into 'Dragon Age Inquisition in space'.

To remedy that - and it really is a fault of the game design that so much is open-ended from the get-go - make a point of leaving Eos, the first planet, after you've been through the first Remnant vault. From here, talk to all your teammates and unlock some of their wants and needs as mission objectives.

At this stage you'll have been asked to find leads on the other missing Arks, so pursue them too. Cora's loyalty mission is a standout, as is the 'Hunting the Archon' thread that appears about midway through the Primary Ops progression.

Ultimately, my advice is self-mediate what sort of content you want to experience (story, exploration or a mix of the two), because the game has NOTHING in place to stop you getting completely lost in "Find 5 of X item" fetch quests or "Go talk to X, then X, then X" if you don't.
