Mass Effect: Andromeda Trailer Breakdown: Everything We Know So Far

1. The Vehicles

Mass Effect Andromeda
BioWare

Discovery is at the heart of Mass Effect: Andromeda, so naturally we want to know what tools we'll be getting our hands on to aid our exploration of this new galaxy.

The Nomad will allow us to traverse all kinds of terrain at speed, and although it isn't armed with any weapons, it can be customized and shouldn't handle like a drunk cow on a skateboard this time, as Bioware have brought the Need for Speed team in to 'handle' the Nomad's mechanics.

The Tempest has seen some screen time in trailers already for Andromeda, and the Normandy's replacement not only looks bigger, but there will be some mechanical changes to how the ships functions in game.

While you can't pilot the ship yourself, the team have been putting an emphasis on the feeling of travelling between destinations on your ship. There's no loading segments while on board the ship, or when disembarking from your vessel - a cinematic will show your team landing and exiting the ship rather than the series' current method of popping you outside the ship after a loading screen.

The galaxy map also returns, with some tweaks. "It is more immersive, you select a planet, the game gives you sense of traveling towards that planet, and when you back out, you're immediately at your destination."
