Mass Effect: Andromeda Trailer Breakdown: Everything We Know So Far

12. Andromeda Initiative Trailer Analysis Part 2

Mass Effect Andromeda

In the trailer, we also get a good look at some of the blueprints for various bits of equipment for the expedition, including the above image of The Nexus. While larger than the Arks themselves, it also appears that the Arks can dock with The Nexus, possibly hinting at a role similar to that of The Citadel in the original trilogy.

We also get a look at the Tempest, our Normandy replacement - which also seems bigger than its predecessor later in the trailer, and the Nomad - a new ground vehicle to replace the Mako from Mass Effect 1.

The weapon blueprints show the returning Carnifex pistol, and what appears to be new variant on the iconic M-8 Avenger assault rifle with a noticeably smaller barrel.

Earlier footage, such as the E3 gameplay demo, shows us the Tempest SMG that debuted in Mass Effect 2. So we have a selection of returning weapons, and will no doubt see new variants of our favorites as well as some new tech to play with. Shiny.

"Colony establishment guidelines" are an interesting part of the trailer, towards the end. Bioware have also confirmed that we will be able to colonize and set up bases on the planets we visit, but this trailer gives us our first look at what those structures may look like. And implies that we, as players, dictate where and when these structures are built.
