In the latest Design & Technology video, Rockstar has shed light on their highly anticipated noir presentation of the game. With Max Payne 3 Rockstar is shooting for perfecting a seamlessly integrated cinematic with your gaming experience. As you watch the cut-scenes designed with the game's traditional graphic novel style noir presentation in mind, you quickly realize the evolution that the developers are targeting for in May. Cinematics occur in game as they've created panel generator which dynamically incorporates in-game footage within realtime. This allows them to immerse the player within the game world and keeping the tradition of the series by always keeping you inside his thoughts. Now players are able to stay in-game and switch from Max's consciousness straight to the barrel of his gun as developers use film editing techniques in order to seemlessly transition the player from cinematic to gameplay without the dreaded loading screen. With the location of Brazil, Rockstar is paying close attention to the change from the gloomy NYC streets of the original two, to the exotic location of Brazil. Rockstar's level of detail within the environments is unprecedented. As the camera slowly changes and cuts the blurred colors remind of the vibrancy of Brazil compared to the grey and black shadows of previous Max Payne titles. What Rockstar is aiming for is definitely something to keep on your radar. The graphic novel style noir is being evolved into something that could bring even more immersion to future Rockstar titles.
