Medal Of Honor: Ranking The Series From Worst To Best
7. Medal Of Honor (2010)
Released in 2010, this was Medal of Honor's first attempt at basing itself in a modern setting, and the general feeling remains that it failed big time. Essentially a clone of the Activision-developed Modern Warfare 2, it fell down in too many areas to be considered anything other than your typical run-of-the-mill FPS. The first Medal of Honor game to put more of an emphasis on multiplayer as oppose to single player mode, the online gameplay was not very memorable. Put simply, it seemed to struggle to find itself against the fast and frantic nature of Call of Duty and the slower, more tactical approach of the Battlefield series. The story mode as mentioned is based in a modern setting. To be honest, for purposes of this feature I literally had to recheck what it was even about, so little was its lasting impression. Based in the current war in Afghanistan, you take control of various different characters from across the US military. The boring story was accompanied by numerous gameplay problems. Upon looking down the sights of your weapon the shoddy textures of the game stood out as very poor. Small components of course, but the sum of these parts added up to make a broken game.
