1. MGS Fans Will Love It
Yes, Revengeance is completely different to the Metal Gear Solid franchise, there's no doubting that. For one, its emphasis on stealth is extremely minor, and it doesn't have the same epic scope or sense of emotional engagement as the previous titles, but that isn't what Revengeance is aiming for. It's
supposed to be breezy, ridiculous and a little bit dumb, and manages to entertain ably within that remit. What's without question is that this game still feels like a very welcome part of the universe. Aside from developing Raiden as a character, the look of the game will be familiar to fans of the last one, and there are also a few neat cameos of characters from the MGS franchise that are simply too good to spoil. It will have its detractors, and rightly, the game is nowhere near as good as any of the "proper" MGS titles, but it's still a thoroughly enjoyable diversion, especially given the low expectations mustered by that dreadful demo.
