Brawl. However, for Snake Eater MGS was still a Sony-only franchise, leading to them asking for an Ape Escape mode to be included in the game. Titled 'Snake Vs. Monkey', it's a great little mini-game where you make like that game's Spike and muck about trying to ensnare chimps in a net - however the most charming part comes during a brilliantly self-aware intro dialogue between Snake and Colonel Campbell. After first mentioning how he didn't want to come on the mission in the first place - "I'm NOT hunting any more Metal Gears!" - Snake is informed he has to rescue apes, the resulting bewilderment causing him to exclaim that he's not the only person who can handle a stealth mission, noting that "Sam or Gabe" should do it instead. Sam Fisher and Gabe Logan are the protagonists for Splinter Cell and Syphon Filter respectively, the latter especially was getting bandied about in the late 90s as a title that could take MGS' crown.
