Metal Gear Solid V: 20 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do
9. Keep Your Best Troublemaking Staff
Depending on how Fulton-happy you've become over your time infiltrating and clearing the various outposts, you could've ended up with a huge number of soldiers all with various specific 'Skills'. The vast majority are useful, ranging from weapon specialists to calming tensions amongst the ranks, but the Troublemaker stat only spells negativity for your overall morale. Many of us ended up just getting rid of these guys as soon as they appear, but if you keep an eye on exactly where you're assigning them (R&D, Intel, Support etc.) there's a hidden system of 'balancing' going on. Now, the game actually prompts this during a load screen, but it's very easy to miss. Put two Troublemakers on the same team, and they'll neutralise each other's abilities. There'll be no on-screen indicator you've done anything, but providing you keep an eye on your Staff Management screen and ensure there are two of each Troublemaker within, you can keep those pesky soldiers with high stats who are otherwise impossible to get along with.
