4. Venom Snake Is Actually The Medic From Ground Zeroes, Not Big Boss

Here comes the big one, so hold your breath and pay attention. Though the strategy guide's creators were contractually blocked from outright revealing the game's big twist, it as much implies that the medic character briefly seen in Ground Zeroes with his face mostly obscured is in fact the Big Boss (aka Venom Snake) who wakes up from the 9-year coma, and is referred to throughout the guide as "Ahab". You'll remember that during the trailer where Big Boss could be seen on an operating table, there was no visible shrapnel in his head, and that's because he was the "real" Big Boss, while the one we play as in this game is the medic, who took the brunt of the impact from the bomb blast, and has since been brainwashed with false memories to believe that he is Big Boss. More damning proof comes in the form of a DNA test, where Ahab has DNA that doesn't match Eli's (Liquid Snake), and the guide says that considering that Eli is a clone of Big Boss, there's no reason why their DNA shouldn't match. So, who is this medic really, then? Solidus, perhaps? Gray Fox? It's safe to say that this is certainly the most jaw-dropping twist in the series' history since the controversial Raiden reveal in MGS2. It's already sparked an uproar online and will certainly require some careful explanation, though of course, it's all in the execution as to whether this will end up as a cop-out or another genius rug-pull by Hideo Kojima.
