Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain - 12 Crucial Tips & Tricks You Need To Know

3. Look Away From The Credits In Main Mission Intros

Stylistically, Kojima Productions decided each episode of the game should be top n' tailed by introductory and outro credits sequences; not entirely of the actors either, but of the characters you're about to come across. It's a strange choice - one that I'd like to think has been put in there to flip the middle finger at Konami for removing Kojima's name from everywhere else - but more importantly in telling you who's going to be in the mission you're heading into, it can telegraph details and reveals you'd best like left unsaid. For the most part such a feature is just a quirky aesthetic choice (Starring... Attack Helicopter 673, for example), but in things like the polarising Chapter 12, you might simply not want to know that a particular somebody is about to show up out of nowhere, or who else you can expect to see at some point. To that end, if you're a real spoiler-dodger I'd recommend actively looking to the centre of the screen and taking your focus off the names that form around the side. After about four to eight character names it'll switch back to the writers and level designers (spottable through titles above their names) and you're free to resume your regular sanity.
