Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain - 15 Easter Eggs, References & Secrets You Must Find

1. Outer Heaven Makes A Secret Appearance

The game's 46th episode, Truth: The Man Who Sold the World, is its "proper" ending even if there are 4 more missions to complete afterwards, and without going into spoiler details, everyone remembers that iconic shot of Big Boss punching the mirror from the last trailer, right? Well, it's a scene from one of the final parts of the game, and if you look carefully, you'll see a skull logo in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen after he punches it, which appears to be the Outer Heaven logo. What significance does this have? That this scene almost certainly takes place many years after the events of The Phantom Pain, in the mid-1990s when Big Boss ran Outer Heaven, but for fear of spoiling exactly what this all means, we won't say anymore than that. Still, given the nature of the scene (which, again, we won't be mentioning), it's easy to miss this and not at all realise the time skip of this moment that's destined to be much-discussed among MGS fans. How have you been enjoying MGSV so far? Found any more awesome Easter eggs? Shout them out in the comments!
