Metal Gear Solid V: Ranking The Missions From Worst To Best
19. Traitors' Caravan (Episode 16)
Overview: Extract the cargo a PF convoy is believed to be transporting as payment to Cipher. The cargo must be extracted along with the transport truck. There is no core mission in MGS V more aggravating than Traitors' Caravan, simply because it features the most infuriating encounter with the pesky Skulls in the entire game. Wherever you attempt to intercept the transport truck along its route, the Skulls will emerge to try and stop you. Now, if you're lucky enough to already have your Fulton leveled up for vehicular use, you have nothing to worry about, because you can just Fulton the truck and ride the hell out of the mission area on D-Horse. You can attempt to ride the truck out of the mission area, though this is extremely tricky and most often the Skulls will jump on the truck and destroy it, ending the mission. Without a suitable Fulton level, you're going to need to take the Skulls on directly, and it's a painful fight to say the least. Whether you use Quiet, some of the tanks littered around or D-Walker, you're no doubt going to be supremely relieved when this one's over. Still, it's not a bad mission by any means and is one of the few genuinely challenging missions in the entire game. It's just frustrating that the sudden spike in difficulty does make it feel a little cheap.
