Please don't make it an origin story. Please. We've all had enough of those, and we really don't need to sit through another. Instead, why not devote more time to the actual meat and bones of the story, rather than wasting it on showing us how Samus came to be what she is. This is her story: when she was a child, Space Pirates raider her planet and killed countless people, including her parents. She was adopted by the birdlike Chozo race, who taught her to be a warrior and put her in a power suit. She then became one of the top bounty hunters in the galaxy. That's it. You really don't need a full movie for that - just a brief opening sequence will do. Even a passing mention will do. The key here is keeping the plot focused on what matters to allow fans to see as much as possible of Samus doing what she does best: blasting alien monsters to smithereens.
