4. Starfield's Underwhelming Reveal

Starfield Bethesda
Bethesda

Three years after Bethesda officially announced their first new IP in 25 years, they finally gave sci-fi RPG Starfield an outright unveiling, complete with the far-flung release date of November 11, 2022.

And while it was certainly a relief to see Bethesda drop the veil on the hugely anticipated AAA title, it was also a little underwhelming that we got nothing more than a vague two-minute trailer which didn't show any actual gameplay.

We've come away from this year's showcase knowing only scarcely more about Starfield than we did before, for while the teaser certainly set the tone and cemented the aesthetic, there was nothing truly substantial to glean from it.

For a game that was announced three years ago, it was reasonable to expect at least a sliver of gameplay, or some more concrete information about the plot or characters. Instead, fans will have to wait until a later date for a full-on blow-out.
