Modern Warfare 3: 1600+ Bans Issued to Cheaters, Hackers and Glitchers

Inifnity Ward's community manager confirms massive number of hackers and cheaters banned from playing the mega-selling FPS.

Do you ever find yourself perpetually frustrated in online MW3 play as one player seems unaffected by the usual restrictions of gameplay and occasionally the laws of physics, and sets about racking up ridiculous scores by slaying you and your team without mercy or distinction? We've all met him in online games - he's called a big fat cheater, and it seems the developers have decided to continue their hardline stance on anyone who seeks to unlawfully gain advantage within their games by unceremoniously kicking out and banning a large number of the miscreants from MW3. Robert Bowling, community manager at Infinity Ward has taken to the Twitterverse to confirm that they have banned more than 1600 cheaters and hackers from the record-selling FPS since release, with plans to continue the cull with the help of us law-abiding, ban-fearing sorts. Bowling's tweet read thusly...
Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in #MW3 will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued. Updates in works. Please cont. to report offenders.
Take that, unlawful swines! Some might say that Activision and Infinity Ward have made enough money from the game to let some naughtiness slip by unnoticed, but it is enormously heartening to see them sticking to their guns and trying to police a zero-tolerance order on exploitative "gamers" to the benefit of everyone else. And long may it continue.

Modern Warfare 3 is available to buy now on XBox 360, PS3, Wii and PC.
