Mortal Kombat 11: 10 Reasons It's NetherRealm's Best Game Ever
9. Incredibly Detailed Animations
Another common complaint of NetherRealm games are their animations. MKX was often criticized for having difficult to read moves that made it challenging for players to guess whether the opponent was attacking low or overhead, leading to getting caught in a ridiculously long combo that seemingly could have been avoided if the game had made it more clear.
With MK11, NetherRealm clearly took this criticism on board, as the animations improved in nearly every area. Gone are the days of difficult to read attacks, as all the moves in MK11 feel fair and balanced. Whether the opponent is going low or overhead is nicely telegraphed, meaning if you get hit, it's fault, not the games. A nice change of pace from MKX.
Neutral stances are also much improved. No longer do characters sway from side to side when standing still like drunken sailors. In MK11 each character stands like you feel they should. Their stances fit their personalities.
The ninjas, Scorpion and Sub-Zero, stand like they are ready to strike at any moment (you know... like a ninja), while a quick and dirty shooter like Erron Black stands with his trigger hand floating above his gun at all times.
