4. Kratos (2018)
Stop yelling! We know Kratos has already featured in Mortal Kombat, but the Ghost of Sparta is more popular than ever, sporting a new look and move-set that make him ripe for a comeback.
Few would have predicted that a 2018 God Of War reboot would be the best game of the year, but here we are. Kratos and Atreus stole the hearts of the gaming world earlier in 2018 when the PS4 exclusive blew all expectations out the water.
Of course, this means Kratos would, again, be a PlayStation-exclusive character... sorry Xbox. You guys could have... Marcus Fenix?
The previous iteration of Kratos in Mortal Kombat (2011) was a strong and somewhat slow character, who used the Blades of Chaos to slice through opposition; the head of Medusa to freeze enemies; Apollo's Bow to shoot them from afar; and finally cut them in half using the Blade of Olympus.
A new version of Kratos would be just as strong and utilise his incredible frost axe to smash, throw, freeze and boomerang through enemies like butter. Not to mention the blades, shield and maybe even Atreus could pop-up for a arrow assist.
