Mortal Kombat 12: 10 Things Fans NEED To See

4. Get Rid Of Variations

Variations should have been players' dream gameplay addition, but instead, it's been executed so poorly no one really wants them around anymore.

The ability to create your characters move-list exactly the way you want sound great, but in practice, you basically strip away the variation between characters. Everyone has ended up with special moves that feel similar, and the character feeling like an unfinished design when you have to choose one special move over others.

People resort to creating the same best build's put up online anyway as half the moves fighters have ended up being useless beyond extremely specific scenarios. There's no sense of wanting to learn a character inside and out and get a feel for them when you can just customize them to fit what you already know.

Time should be spent making each fighter completely unique and fit their own kind of playstyle, not ensuring people can use them for any situation or match up that suits them.

The roster benefits enormously from the amount of effort that has gone into visually differentiating their personalities, but the way those personalities fight needs to follow that same standard.
