24. The Epic Handshake (MKX)
As part of the DLC for Mortal Kombat X, consumers can purchase the titular character from the horror classic, Predator. However, there is another reference to this film that a lot of players miss.
One of Jax’s outfits is the same clothes which Dillon wears in Predator. In this skin, Jax is voiced by Carl Weathers who played Dillon in the film. That's a nice Easter egg... but it doesn't stop there. One of Johnny Cage’s outfits is the same clothes which Arnold Schwarzenegger's character wears in the film, Commando.
Now, this is where the developers went the extra mile. In Predator, Schwarzenegger's character, Dutch, performs a hand clasp to Dillon when they first meet. This shot, which is known as The Epic Handshake, is iconic because it shows how ridiculously huge Schwarzenegger's biceps are.
In Mortal Kombat X, if two human characters choose Jax and Cage while wearing these costumes, they will turn to one another and Cage will say, "You son of a bitch!" before performing The Epic Handshake.
Players who get the reference will appreciate it as one of the best Easter eggs in the franchise.
