Mortal Kombat Movie: Where Are They Now?

8. Linden Ashby - Johnny Cage

Mortal Kombat
New Line Cinema

The Johnny Cage of the more recent Mortal Kombat games may have evolved a bit since the early arcade days, but Linden Ashby was an ideal choice to play the cocky movie star in Mortal Kombat. He had just the right amount of swagger, seriousness, and self-assurance, while also portraying a redeemable character who is a good guy at heart.

Even though they quickly cut Johnny Cage's role in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, it would have been more impactful had Ashby been the one to take the fall.

Eagle-eyed fans searching for Ashby in film could spot him in Prom Night, Iron Man 3, Mean Girls 2, Van Wilder: Freshmen Year, and Resident Evil: Extinction. Since Mortal Kombat, however, he's been front and center on the small screen.

His television credits include prominent roles in The Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives, Army Wives, Teen Wolf, and Trinkets.

And for anyone wondering what happened to Ashby's replacement in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Chris Conrad, look to the TV series Young Hercules, Patriot, and Perpetual Grace, LTD.
