Mortal Kombat X: 10 Most Underpowered Characters That Need Upgrading

2. Quan Chi (Sorcerer)

Between the two of them, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung have the pure evil character quota filled, but the former is, without any exaggeration, total garbage in Mortal Kombat X. All three of Quan's variations this time around leave much to be desired, but Sorcerer takes the cake for being the worst - mainly because of the variant's main mechanic. See, Quan's offensive power in this form comes entirely from the placement of magical sigils on the ground that, when stood in, grant him buffs or - if his opponent does instead - debuffs. Sure, it sounds like a neat mechanic, but when you actually try to utilise said moves when the guy stood on the opposite side of the screen is on his way to smash your face in, you'll quickly realise there's zero practicality to any of it. In fact, if Quan Chi is pushed into a corner at any point in a match, he's going to lose. Like, there's no debate - he's screwed. He's so bad that I'm not even sure if he's salvageable. Just go ahead and replace him entirely with a resurrected Shang Tsung, NetherRealm. Cheers.
