Mortal Kombat X: 10 Overpowered Characters Who Need Downgrading

3. Shinnok (Necromancer)

For one reason or another, a precedent was set early on in the beat 'em up genre, dictating the edict that every single end-game boss needed to be an overpowered entity of cheapness that used underhanded tactics to beat on your ass over and over again. Shinnok is now part of that club, and while nowhere near the rage-inducing levels of OP as say, Gill or Shao Kahn, the deity is still capable of irritating players to no end with his Boneshaper variant. I mean, is there really anything more annoying than a fighter who can essentially get a Flawless Victory against you without having to land a single physical attack? Flicks, grabs and airborne variations of the same attack can make contact from any distance, and are designed entirely to make it impossible for a direct approach. If you do manage to get in, Shinnok can just put you right back on the other side through use of an upwards energy blast and start again. There's a simple fix - just give all of his attacks a longer start-up, or remove Shinnok's ability to easily push you away to even the playing field.
