NBA 2K20 Demo: 10 Reactions You Need To Know
7. Pie Charts Are P*ssing People Off
2K pretty much said archetypes were a thing of the past. Apparently, pie charts are the future.
Twitter and Reddit aren't exactly happy with this change, especially because the charts seem to lessen the number of archetypes. They're also fiddly (who really wants to spend time working out some charts when they're deciding what kind of player they want to be?). This isn't high school, 2K.
Worse, the charts change up the colour palette on different screens for...some reason. This was totally unnecessary, and just adds another layer of irritation to the experience. It was maybe a nice idea in theory, but hasn't panned out in execution. The old archetype lay out was actually better.
It could be that series fans don't like change and will eventually come around to this new way of picking player strengths and weaknesses. Still, it's needlessly boring to plough through and doesn't even give a clear indication at the end of what you've built.
