NBA 2K20 Review: 5 Ups & 4 Downs

3. MyGM 2.0

Big changes are afoot in the revamped MyGM 2.0. No longer can a player make their early-game decisions, get their roster together, sim until the end of the season, and expect to make progress. Now, it's all about completing an array of daily tasks, levelling up, and improving your team through careful, targeted adjustments.

Gamers do so using action points, of which they have a limited number to spend every day. This forces you to think about what you're doing rather than spamming them in one area. Progression without proper thought isn't impossible, but it's difficult, and while things like being forced to spend a point to see a trade offer see the system go too far, it's a great start and one that makes MyGM infinitely more interesting.
