The New Orleans Pelicans are one of the newer teams to the league, having only formed in the early 2000s, but despite this, they've remained quite successful over their near two decades as a team.
Chris Paul and Anthony Davis have both helped the team climb the ranks with their performances under the Pelicans, with Davis helping the squad reach the playoffs during the 2014/15 season, marking the first time they'd done so in four seasons. Granted, the Pelicans have never actually done too well in the playoffs, failing to ever make it past the conference semifinals, however, it was still a huge achievement.
Nowadays, the New Orleans team have NBA 2K21 cover star Zion Williamson as one of their top stars. He didn't exactly start off the way the team had hoped, as he needed knee surgery before officially debuting for the team, but once he recovered, the rookie sensation went on to become a huge deal for this generation of NBA players.
With Brandon Ingram also having a breakout season last year, becoming an NBA All-Star for the first time in his career, the Pelicans seem to be on the verge of a phenomenal 2020/21 season.
