It took them a while before they were officially dubbed the Atlanta Hawks, however, the team have had their share of accomplishments over their near eighty years in the league.
The departure of head coach Mike Budenholzer, as well as Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap, led to them finishing the 2017/18 season with a 24-58 record, meaning they missed the playoffs for the first time in ten seasons. One season after, they finished with a similar record of 23-59, continuing to fall down the NBA rankings.
It has to be said, we shouldn't be using this platform to explicitly dunk on how bad the Atlanta Hawks have been in recent seasons, but when you look at how far they've fallen, you just need to take a moment to vent.
Despite all of this, the squad managed to score an overall rating of 75 in NBA 2K21, something that you have to seriously question. While Trae Young and De'Andre Hunter have helped to strengthen the team, it simply isn't enough to justify why they came in at the same overall rating as the Miami Heat - one half of this year's final, remember.
