Despite coming in at the lower end of this ranking, the Minnesota Timberwolves haven't necessarily had a terrible time of it so to speak. They just haven't done nearly as well as they have done in previous years.
Gone are the eras of Kevin Garnett and Kevin Love, as well as the Bounce Brothers pairing of Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, with Wiggins being traded to the Golden State Warriors this past February in exchange for Towns' pal D'Angelo Russell. Their 2019/20 season saw the Timberwolves finish with 19 wins to 45, their worst in five years when they finished 16-66 in the 2014/15 season.
They desperately need to bring someone on board who can help them gain the sort of success they once had. Seeing as they'll have the first overall pick in this year's draft, it's the perfect opportunity for them to do just that.
Head coach Ryan Saunders and president Gersson Rosas seriously need to do everything in their power to create the best team possible going forward. They're so close to reaching greatness once more, so long as they make at least one huge move in the draft.
