New Rise Of The Tomb Raider DLC Looks Terrifying

Is this Lara Croft or Rick Grimes?

If you thought the first add-on to Rise of the Tomb Raider was scary, wait until you wrap your eyes around Cold Darkness Awakened. The second DLC takes place in the same snowy environment fans will remember from the core game, but with a sinister twist. Lights are dimmed, enemies attack in relentless packs, and Lara is forced you to stay out in open areas in order to survive. The mercenaries, tribesmen and bears of the previous instalment have all been replaced with - every game developers soup du jour - mindless zombies. You can of course still attempt to use stealth to stay out of combat, but by the looks of things the game's core mechanics will encourage players to tackle the problem head on. The official release sets us the plot thusly; "A decommissioned Cold War research base has been breached, unleashing a deadly affliction from its Siberian slumber. As the illness seeps into the wilderness surrounding the base, Trinity soldiers transform into bloodthirsty killers who thrive on carnage. To prevent the affliction from spreading, Lara must rely on her wits, physical agility, and crafting abilities to overcome this new enemy and shut down the decommissioned base". Resident Evil, sorry, Cold Darkness Awakened, will be the last time we will see Lara in Rise of the Tomb Raider, as this add-on will conclude all added DLC for the game. Cold Darkness Awakened is available now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVTZdjCliJk
